For my second video on Persian drumming I am putting the spotlight on my “Bandari Beat”. I prepared 12 examples in this video with supplement critical details for executing the featured beats. Package includes pdf drum notation files for all beats and beat variations. I will discuss how you can spice the beats up with simple technique ideas using accents and rudiments.
I will demonstrate the blending of time signatures with my 6/8 - 2/4 beats and explain how to occupy that sensitive area to create this feel. I go into great detail on the practice pad, showing the best sticking you can use to obtain the all-important accents which are essential to move the groove in the right direction.
Finally, in examples 7 through 12, I show a variety of way to play slow 6/8 as well as fast 6/8.
My first video “Most Popular Persian 6/8 Beats” I discuss the very basics and beginning points of Persian drumming and in this video (Part 2) I get into more intermediate and advanced concepts.
